After careful preparation, the 4th “SFLEP Cup” Northwest University Freshman English Competition officially kicks off. This competition includes three tracks: speech, reading, and writing, and is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in 2022 in our university. The registration period is from March 15th to March 24th, 2023. “The Northwest University Freshman English Competition” is a platform designed specifically for freshmen at Northwest University to showcase their talents and realize their own value. It consists of three tracks: speech, reading, and writing. The event is organized by the School of Foreign Languages at Northwest University, sponsored by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, and has received strong support from various departments of the university, including the Academic Affairs Office, the Student Affairs Office, and the University Student Union. The purpose of the competition is to discover freshmen with potential in English speech, reading and writing, and integrate them into the “Northwest University English Reading, Writing and Speaking Training Base” team, thus serving as seed players for various English-related competitions at Northwest University. At the same time, the competition aims to create a dynamic English learning atmosphere on the campus of Northwest University, enhance the enthusiasm and initiative of students in learning English, especially freshmen who have just entered the university, contribute to the improvement of the quality of undergraduate education and enrich the teaching practice activities at Northwest University.
