Li Weijian, a researcher at the Foreign Policy Research Institute of the Shanghai Institute for International Studies. He has previously served as deputy director and director of the Comprehensive Research Office, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Office, director of the West Asia and Africa Center, and director of the Foreign Policy Research Institute at Shanghai Institute for International Studies. Currently, he is a member of the Academic Committee of the Middle East Studies Institute at Shanghai International Studies University, an academic advisor at the Middle East Studies Center at Fudan University, and an anonymous expert reviewer for projects funded by the National Social Science Fund. He also serves as an editor and review expert for academic journals such as West Asia and Africa at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Arab World Studies at Shanghai International Studies University, and Middle East Studies at Northwest University. His research focuses on Middle Eastern issues, China's diplomacy in the Middle East, and Sino-Middle Eastern relations. He studied at Cairo University in Egypt and was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in the United States.
