On October 25, 2023, Professor Liu Di, from the Graduate School of Integrated Policy Studies at Japan's Kyorin University, visited our school to deliver a distinguished lecture at the Foreign Language Institute. The lecture, titled "Contemporary Japanese Language Education and Innovative Integration with Technology" was given at the Activity Center of the SFL's Second Classroom, and was hosted by Associate Professor Zhang Ziru from the Japanese Department. Faculty and students from the Japanese Department actively participated in the lecture.
Professor Liu Di focused on modern Japanese language education, highlighting the challenges posed by the technological revolution of the new era to traditional educational systems, methods, and ideologies. He explored how to break free from the constraints of traditional Japanese language education models and promote the integration of language education with contemporary society and technology, and proposed some specific ideas. His presentation sparked diverse reflections among the faculty and students on the future of teaching and learning and the prospects for employment.
During the lecture, many questions were raised by faculty and students on topics such as Japanese teaching models and considerations for studying in Japan. Professor Liu Di provided insightful answers to these questions. The lecture concluded with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
