A delegation from SFL of TJU visited our school for research and discussion

On the morning of March 13, 2024, Zhang Wenli, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages at Tianjin University, led a delegation to visit our school for research and discussion. The meeting was chaired by Wang Jun, the Secretary of the Party Committee of our school, and attended by members of the party and government leadership.

 

Secretary Wang Jun welcomed the delegation from the School of Foreign Languages at Tianjin University on behalf of our school. Starting from the background of the school, faculty structure, talent introduction, discipline construction, and the exploration of new mechanisms for development and reform, he closely focused on the strategic orientation of the university's development. He conducted an in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges faced by the school in recent years in terms of reform and development.

 

Dean Cao Ruonan provided an overview of the school's development direction in disciplines, integration of research resources, English teaching planning, and student employment and entrepreneurship. She emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary integration in discipline development, highlighted the need to collaborate with multiple fields such as ideological and political education, history, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms to connect internal and external resources. This approach aims to continuously align with the national agenda and further promote the development of new humanities disciplines. Additionally, there was an in-depth exchange with the delegation from the School of Foreign Languages at Tianjin University on talent introduction, restructuring of faculty, and the construction of regional and country-specific disciplines.

 

Party Secretary Zhang Wenli of the School of Foreign Languages at Tianjin University expressed during the discussion that through in-depth exchanges, they deeply sensed the development potential and vitality of the School of Foreign Languages at Northwest University. In the future, they will further strengthen communication and collaboration to jointly promote in-depth cooperation between the two sides in disciplines development, education and teaching, talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, and other aspects.

 

After the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in academic exchanges, student exchanges, and mutual visits. They are dedicated to broadening the development path of foreign language disciplines, enhancing the quality of foreign language education and teaching, nurturing more outstanding foreign language talents, and increasing the influence and competitiveness of the disciplines.
