Dean Cao Ruonan provided guidance and delivered a speech.
Dean Cao Ruonan provided guidance on the research prospects, existing issues, and future development directions for young faculty members in our school. Firstly, regarding research prospects, it’s urgent for young faculty members in our school to deepen their research development. Since the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we have advocated for “organized research”, and being passive cause great risks in academic development. Secondly, in terms of the existing issues in research, the biggest problem faced by young faculty members in our school is the lack of a comprehensive research focus. Thirdly, concerning the future development direction for foreign language professionals, every teacher should have a starting point and a foothold in research. We should avoid blind spots in research work, strive to build synergy, integrate into teams, and make breakthroughs in new research areas (Area Studies) as much as possible.
Vice Dean Su Rui gave a speech.
Vice Dean Su Rui addressed the concerns of teachers regarding the application for national-level projects, the writing and publication of high-level papers, and the publication of works. She encouraged everyone to pay attention to the annual changes in project guidelines, understand the requirements for project applications, and identify research breakthroughs based on their previous research and research foundation. She pointed out that young faculty members are the driving force behind the school’s development and hoped that they would integrate their personal growth with the development of the school. For school, efforts will be continuously made to improve research incentive policies. Methods such as face-to-face discussions with editors of high-level journals, organizing cooperative conferences, and inviting experts for project argumentation and guidance in paper writing will be employed to address the urgent concerns of teachers, stimulate research vitality within the school, and promote further development of the school.
