In the afternoon of February 29th, the school held a special work meeting to convey the spirit of various meetings of the university. The leadership team of the party and government, the chairman of the labor union, and the directors of various departments attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wang Jun, the Secretary of the school's Party Committee.
Secretary Wang Jun introduced the background of this meeting, focused on conveying the spirit of the Party Congress and made clear requirements for the directors of various departments to further communicate the spirit of various important meetings of the university. He emphasized that currently, the entire university is following the deployment of the 14th Party Congress, focusing on the goal of “Chinese characteristics, the world-class”, and comprehensively launching the “Seven Major Projects”, “Six Major Plans”, and “Three Major Actions”. For the school, there are both challenges and opportunities. We should seize the new opportunities for the development of area studies, combine with the upcoming assessment methods for faculty and staff, strive to enhance the teaching and research capabilities of all teachers, and improve the ability to cultivate morality and talent quality.
Associate Dean of Research, Su Rui, summarized the research work of the school in 2023. Combining with the requirements of the university's research work conference, she pointed out the problems in the school's research work and future development directions. She hoped that the directors of various departments would actively encourage teachers to participate in various organized research activities and apply for research projects. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Jianbo, summarized the situation of the school's graduates in 2023. Combining with the current situation of this year's graduates, specific work requirements for employment were proposed, and the Nine Measures to Promote Full Employment of Graduates at Northwest University was studied. Associate Dean of Administration, Yang Ying, arranged work on fire safety, electric vehicle management, campus traffic management, etc., in accordance with the spirit of the university's fire safety work conference. Chairman of the Labor Union, Yuan Xiling, arranged the union work of the school for 2024 according to the spirit of the union member representative conference. This year, the focus will be on actively conducting various activities around the construction of teacher ethics and style, the school-level Teacher’s Congress, caring for the physical and mental health of staff, and cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign cultures.
Dean Cao Ruonan communicated about the essentials of teaching work conference on behalf of Vice Dean of Teaching, Li Mi, who was away form the meeting due to teaching duties in the afternoon. Subsequently, combining with the new situation of the university's development and the current situation of the school, arrangements were made for various aspects of undergraduate teaching, research projects, discipline construction, degree program evaluations, and the new methods for faculty assessment. Clear work objectives and priorities for each department were outlined, and specific requirements were put forward for the directors of each department.
At this working meeting, the school's party and government leadership team, in conjunction with the current development situation of the school, thoroughly conveyed the spirit of key meetings of the university. They also made detailed arrangements and deployments for their respective areas of responsibility, and clarified the tasks and objectives for the new semester to ensure that all work progresses in an orderly manner. Each department will also promptly convene special work meetings to convey the spirit of key meetings of the university, in accordance with their specific tasks, and swiftly implement the requirements of the university and the school.
