Our school successfully conducted the 2023 fire safety drill on November 22nd at the Chang'an Campus, with representatives of faculty, students, and staff participating. The event was chaired by Vice Dean Yang Ying, with the attendance of Deputy Director of the Security Department, Na Longyu, and Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, Liu Jianbo.
Vice Dean Yang first reported on the recent fire safety inspections in the university, emphasizing the importance of campus fire safety by citing examples of campus fire accidents. Deputy Director Na Longyu vividly explained fire safety knowledge from four aspects: evacuation capability, hazard inspection capability, fire safety promotion capability, and primary firefighting capability.
Subsequently, the head of fire safety training guided representatives of teachers and students in rehearsing firefighting by using asbestos blankets for "smothering method", carbon dioxide fire extinguishers for gas fire, and dry powder fire extinguishers for liquid fire. Through hands-on exercises, participants learned how to correctly use fire-fighting equipment, handle emergency situations, and extinguish fires.
This event provided participants with vivid fire safety education and further enhanced the fire safety awareness and self-rescue capabilities of faculty, students, and staff.
