On December 7, 2023, the national finals of the "Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press · English Test for International Communication " "Understanding Contemporary China" National Foreign Language Contest for college students (Multilingual Group), hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University and organized by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, concluded successfully in Beijing. More than 15,000 multilingual participants from universities across the country showcased their talents. After rounds of selection including school-level competitions, provincial competitions (Shaanxi Division), and national competitions, Liu Xun, a 2022 Japanese Language and Literature major from our school, under the meticulous guidance of teachers Wang Huan and Zhang Peng (involved in provincial competition guidance), as the only student from Shaanxi Division to advance to the national competition in the Japanese group, ultimately won the Silver Award in the final.

The 2023 "Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press · English Test for International Communication " "Understanding Contemporary China" National Foreign Language Contest for college students, based on the development and innovation of the "Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press · English Test for International Communication " English series competition with a history of over 20 years, introduced the Multilingual Group as a new category this year. The Multilingual Group competition covers eight languages including Japanese, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, and Portuguese. With the theme of "Understanding China and Connecting with the World," the competition, focusing on the national conditions of China and considering global development, guides participants to understand the path of China, articulate China's governance, elucidate China's principles, and convey China's voice.
