Recently, our school’s president Cao Ruonan, along with the responsible person from the MTI Education Center, visited Xi’an Wenge Technology Co., Ltd. They signed a cooperation agreement between the university and the enterprise, aiming to jointly establish the “Northwest University Graduate Demonstration Practice Base”.
The company is a subsidiary of the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, positioned as a global multilingual data processing base and a foreign language talent center. It currently has over 100 full-time multilingual researchers covering more than ten languages. Leveraging the Wenhai Global Multilingual Open Source Big Data Platform, which has the capability to provide internet open-source information services with over 300 billion data points, utilizing the intelligent AI analysis platform developed by Wenge Technology, and combining the wisdom of domain experts for in-depth analysis, the company offers a variety of decision support services focusing on strategic public opinion influence, media communication, policy implementation, public safety, and brand communication.
Dean Cao Ruonan and Wu Xiaofei, Deputy General Manager of the Public Opinion Business Unit in Wenge Technology, also serving as the Vice President of the company's Xi’an branch, signed the contract on behalf of both parties
Based on long-term strategic considerations, both parties have jointly decided to advance the following initiatives: commissioning projects in specific fields, sharing experiences in using big data tools through university lectures, establishing an expert database by pooling expert resources, jointly establishing training and practical bases, and collaborating on talent development mechanisms. Through this signed cooperation, both parties will establish a new pattern of collaborative education for master’s students majoring in English translation, guided by the principles of “project-driven, learning-by-doing, and comprehensive development”. The collaboration will tightly integrate teaching with learning and theory with practice, focusing on deep interaction in fields such as international communication and artificial intelligence. This approach aims to help students develop business acumen and data thinking, broaden the application scenarios of professional knowledge, and explore career development paths.
Dean Cao Ruonan awarded Xi’an Wenge Technology the title of “Northwest University Professional Degree Graduate Demonstration Practice Base”
In accordance with the school’s deployment arrangements for “visiting enterprises for practical training”, our school has signed internship and employment cooperation agreements with several industry leaders. As of now, we have signed cooperation agreements with over ten domestic and global top companies in the translation industry, such as RWS, Transn, and Beijing Yaxin Cheng, and have established internship/practical cooperation bases. We are actively exploring scientific approaches to the training of professional degree talents.
