In order to increase the interest in learning English and broaden the channels of English learning, the activity “BBC went into the NWU” was held successfully in Jin Hai Conference Hall in the afternoon on June 19.
The secretary of the School League Committee Du Yufeng, the dean of the SFL Cui Yaping, the Party Secretary Wang Qiang, the Foreign Language Broadcasting Station, and 200 students and teachers were present. And this activity was hosted by Yu Yali.
Firstly, the dean Cui Yaping gave a welcome speech to the chief editor Alison Konieczny and other two members of the BBC English Teaching Department and expressed thanks to the university’s support. And then, Alison Konieczny and Finn Aberdein introduced the English website for Chinese students and gave a detailed explanation. What’s more, they interacted with students, asking and answering questions positively. At last, they sent gifts and souvenirs to our students.
After the activity, the students said that this kind of activity was helpful in increasing the learning interest and motivating the passion for English. And they hoped that the university could have more high-level English exchange activities.
