Recently, the school have launched an overall security screening and rectification before the National Day under the leadership of the general secretary Mr. Wang Qiang and joined by other related people. The screening and rectification this time have found and rectified the following problems with the focus on the offices, labs, and equipments:
1. A serious leaking problem exists in the radio room of foreign language teaching: the radio room is arranged on the fifth floor of the No.6 building (room 6-5-02) while taking consideration of the antenna launching. This two-room office is used as a test launching station for public foreign language teaching and listening exams on south campus. The leaking this time happened during the vocation and had not cause any equipments losses for we had cut all electricity out before the holiday. Corrective report: firstly we made a requirement for the related department asking for their quick repair of the leaking roof; secondly the school decided to exchange the launching room with the students’ activity room for the prevention of similar problems.
2. There is an extension of the Girders crack on the walls of College Teaching Department Ⅰ(room 6-4-04 ), and this will seriously endanger the safety of students and teachers. This crack was originated from the earthquake on May 12th in 2008 and some secrete fell down during last summer vocation. The rectification report has been reported for the relevant department of the university and we have already informed some teachers not stay near there and do well in prevention.
3. There is ground sedimentation in a multi-media classroom (6-1-04) on the first floor, and we think that there exists a great danger potential in it for we have no idea about the reason of its sedimentation and the structure of the ground. This is a students’ autonomous learning room with a large amount of classes. We cannot arrange courses in other classrooms for there are only two multimedia rooms of this kind on the south campus. The school has already reflected the problems to relevant department of the university.
4. There are many damages on the aluminum alloy windows’ buckles and we have already exchanged for new ones.
5. There are some illegal electric heaters in some rooms as well as things in disorder. We have already ordered them to eliminate these things and criticized related persons. At the same time, the school has bought disinfectant to have flue well prevented. We have also specially arranged people to disinfect all the offices and public places every day.
Party leaders and students in school have checked the sanitation and security in students’ dormitory collectively in accordance with the requirements of the school, and they gave in-time rectification for problems found in the check.
