On the afternoon of November 29th, the report and defense of the 17th Graduate Student Academic Activities Month in our school was successfully held in the second classroom. The defense was chaired by Yang Jingjing, the class monitor of the graduate students of learning degree in 2022, with the attendance of seven supervisors including Professor Ji Jianfen, who served as the judges for this session.
In our school, there are a total of 31 graduate students in four major directions: English Language and Literature, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Japanese Language and Literature, and Area Studies. They systematically presented their research topics, backgrounds, significance, literature reviews, research ideas and methods, research contents and conclusions during the defense. At the site, each committee member provided timely encouragement and practical improvement suggestions to the students based on their performance and the quality of the submitted papers. The atmosphere was academically rich, and the process was orderly, with active interaction between teachers and students.
In this activity, based on the proportion of participants, there were first, second, and third prizes, totaling six winners. After the preliminary scoring of the papers and combining the scores from the on-site defense, the committee members provided comprehensive ratings to select the winning students for this activity. Ultimately, Ren Wanbo enrolled in 2022 who majors in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics won the first prize. Yang Jingjing who majors in Japanese Language and Literature, and Zhang Yin who majors in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics won the second prize. Liang Jiaxin, Zhong Xiaomeng, and Lai Xiaoqian who major in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics received the third prize. Finally, attending mentors awarded the winning students, and a group photo of all teachers and students was taken to commemorate the successful completion of this activity!
