Recently, the EU-China Youth Debate Tournament (international competition) was end in Beijing. After four-day competition, Gao Tian from our school and his partner from Oxford University became the third winner in the contest. Wang Nina and her Austrian partner won the title of 16 Best Debater.
In this debating contest, 16 teams from Europe and 16 teams from China pitted against each other on the same stage. Based on the British parliamentary debating system and using English as its debating language, the competition was carried on between teams consisting of a Chinese student and a European student. In this June, Gao Tian and Wang Nina as partners won the third winner in national contest.
As one of the important activity in EU-China Youth Communication Year, the Debate Tournament aimed at increasing the understanding and friendship between EU-China youth, encouraging youth to concern and support the development of EU-China relationship, and promoting and deepening the partnership between China and Europe. Friendship as its foundation, communication as its approach, and the understanding as its focus, the activity pay more attention to the social effect and mechanism development.
