On the morning of October 19th, Vice Dean Fan Xiaohong from the School of Foreign Languages at Gannan Normal University led several department heads to our school for research and exchange. Deputy Secretary of our school's Party Committee, Liu Jianbo, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs Li Ming, along with directors from the English Department, Japanese Department, and the first and second teaching and research sections of College English, participated in the discussion.
The meeting was chaired by Li Ming, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at our school. She extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the School of Foreign Languages at Gannan Normal University. Vice Dean Fan Xiaohong first introduced the basic situation and development ideas of teaching, research, and student management at the School of Foreign Languages, Gannan Normal University.
Deputy Dean Li Ming highlighted the academic strengths of the School of Foreign Languages at Northwest University, covering areas such as professional teaching and research, reforms in English language instruction, and management of disciplinary competitions.
Deputy Secretary Liu Jianbo shared initiatives regarding student education and management, establishment of internship bases, and efforts to improve employment rates at our school.
During the meeting, there was in-depth discussion and enthusiastic exchange on various issues of common concern, including international and area studies, teaching workload management, student thesis guidance, and challenges faced by foreign language majors along with corresponding strategies. Vice Dean Fan Xiaohong remarked on the remarkable achievements of the School of Foreign Languages at Northwest University, expressing full satisfaction with the visit. Both parties expressed their desires to strengthen cooperation, mutual assistance, and further enhance the quality of foreign language teaching.
