Introduction of the Department for Russian, German, French and Japanese Teaching The Department for Russian, German, French and Japanese Teaching, full of unity and strength, had now a faculty of 5, among which there are 3 associate professors and 2 lecturers and 4 of which have the experience of being abroad for further study.
The department is responsible for the Japanese and Russian language courses for undergraduates of Japanese majors and other majors, the first and second foreign language courses for postgraduates of non-Russian majors and the second foreign language courses of undergraduates of English majors and Japanese majors. Some teachers also take on the training courses for other teachers within or without the university. Since 1995, the rate of passing the National College Russian Test Band 4 initially has been 100% for 8 consecutive years. In 2007, the undergraduates of English majors made 15 points progress in average in the second foreign language of French of the national post-graduate entrance examination and one student got a high score of 98.
The faculty of department center around teaching and are actively in scientific research. At present, 2 provincial research projects, 3 university research projects have been undertaken and the obtained achievements included the publishment of 42 papers, 5 translations, 2 text books, 1 translation work as well as a first prize of university Teaching Achievement Award and a second prize of provincial Teaching Achievement Award.
